This morning we went for a walk and talked about the purpose of marriage.
We talked about how God makes marriage in all of it imperfection, a birthing place for holiness and righteousness if you let it.
We talked about how it is a forum of commitment where selfishness can be burned away; two individuals come together to make someone else more refined and transformed.

We’ve learned that it is impossible for two people who get married to remain the same person!  It is a difficult and beautiful process of transformation that requires the power and presence of a perfect Savior!  Without Him, there is no reason not use abuse and discard each other; People grow weary, selfish, and tired of laying down their lives for eachother which is why is is such a
miracle
to have a God who did it for us first.

In our 2nd year of marriage, we are approaching this year with a fuller appreciation for the greatest love of all time who has committed Himself to us, forgiven us abundantly, been gracious to us, undeservedly filled us with joy, given us all that we could ever want or need and who has formed within us greater love for the other. It is because of these things which we’ve experienced in Jesus Christ that we are freer to love and enjoy one another.
Today, I am grateful for my husband with whom I can confidently look into my future, with hope and expectancy! Today we celebrate our and year of marriage on an even firmer foundation of trust, truth, and friendship than even the year before!
Here’s to Commitment! Here’s to faithfulness! Here’s to determination, unity, peace and Love!
