Easter at our house

Goodmorning everyone!

We had a very non traditional Easter this year but one that was certainly filled with new life!

After quickly shaking the smaller disappointments from my mind, I was able to fully embrace , enjoy and LOVE the fresh way Dan and I got to celebrate the remembrance of the death and Resurrection of our Saviour!

We made a spaghetti lunch with  french bread premade cookies for dessert, a lemonade mix to drink and a half a jar of jelly bean chocolate eggs on the table { don't ask}. With three of our favorite girls from the township of red hill; our sweet friends who we've walked through every joy and pain imaginable in the short time we've known them came to our home for the first time { it was time}. We painted nails, we played cards, we ate and laughed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My favorite moment of the day was when Tc, the young mother of the bunch said to me as we all laid on the floor painting nails " you Love us girls huh Meehan." " yes. I love you girls VERY much." I told her. 

Thank you Jesus for the life you've given us and that I can thank you for every good and perfect gift in my life like yesterday.

Instead of thrifting 

for new clothes, I've been really into 'upcycling' my old clothing and jewelry. So, the last week I've been up to a lot of dying, hemming, adding and tucking. Yesterday, I tried my hand for the first time in a long time at my 'first love' and did the same with my jewelry. I bought some chains and made shorter necklaces into long ones in addition to creatig origionals , {long,which I tend want to grab when I get dressed}. I was very please with the results so here is a sneak peek of my work...

to my dear friends Karl & Julie Ostrand who allowed me  the unique pleasure of witnessing the birth  of their 3rd baby girl.

 Documenting every special moment of a child entering this world was a dream come true and I am so thankful that they invited me into this part of their lives.

A silly little ode to mom:The Way You Are to Me

Mom if you were a scent, 

 you would smell like a combination of Banana Boat suntan oil 

and  the early morning, right before the sun warms everything to life; cool and fresh earth together.

 { even though you love twilight best}.

If  you could be captured in one moment in time ,

 { out of  a thousand good moments what makes this  one special is it's my first memory of  

conscious happiness

 enjoying togetherness with you}

I am so excited this week that one day there will be no more tears, no more sadness and no more pain. The lord will establish a new heaven and a new earth; This is the glorious hope that all of creation wait in eager expectation for! I am encouraged that we do not wait lazily for this to happen but we activlet hope and believe and participate as we tell others about the goodness that he has come and will return.

We love these girl so much. They are the ones that make life here worth it all.

we laugh with them, we celebrate together, We cry and get angry over pain and injustice in their lives. we just spend a lot of time with one another! 

However, This NEW YEAR, I want to do More of life together with them.

We are in the throws of planning a sleepover/retreat for and with them and are ALL very excited about it... more to come!
