happy merry belated new years and Christmas

A belated retelling of Our first Christmas together...
We enjoyed the first hours of the morning just Daniel and I, walking on the beach collecting shells by our house and soaking in the California sunshine. Then, we joined our family for a fun, relaxing time of opening gifts and eating a delicious brunch at G& G's. After that, the two of us again went to the beach but this time with a kayak! It was such a pretty afternoon, the water was as still as a lake which was perfect for a smooth glide across the ocean. With Christmas day coming to a close, we decided to go to mass at the Mission for the evening service but after being turned away at the door (full house) we were able to do something even better! All dressed up with somewhere else to go we joined our family once again at my grandparent's house and ate a delicious meal all together! Things could not have turned out more in our favor. We stayed until the fire died away and eyelids grew heavy with sleep. Then off we drove to my parents house to watch the movie Elf (a Dellar family tradition) until it was time to try, try again to attend mass for the midnight service! It was a great way to extend the memories of our first Christmas together until 2:00 the next morning which is about the time we got home! There you have it the "sweetened condensed" version of our first Christmas. Now I shall take you to January 1st of 2010. "How we brought in the New Year."
Our friends generously gave Daniel and I a certificate for a two night stay at El Captain Canyon, which is a very chic and stylin' upgrade to camping. We managed to stay up until midnight (quite a feat) and tried to get crazy with some sparkling cranberry juice which didn't quite fly like champagne, and strung out on ski ball competitions on Daniel's iphone. It may not sound very glamorous to some but WE were in a white canvas tent that had a heater and we couldn't be happier. Except for the next night when we upgraded and moved to a cabin that actually had insulation, running water a a fire place! These photos may not tell much of the story but wonderful memories they are indeed and so i want to share them with you.

I dedicate this post to my grandma in hopes that a glimpse of some different scenery might refresh you. I'm sorry you've been feeling so crumby and I hope these photos can take you elsewhere for a moment! But I'm believing you will be much better soon! i love you!
